How to get your second job
It isn't so common to find articles or people trying to help you to go from your first-job state to your second job. I'll share here what I made on my first job to grow my carrer blazingly fastly and got my dream's job with 1.5 years of experience.
Every process is different and everybody has your own time, so don't worry. The main thing here is to never stop to walk.
Who am I before my first job
I just jumped on the programming world when i was 10! My father was a computer teacher (not programming, he only taught kids fundamental things, like draw in paint).
Someday I heard about Arduino (it's basically a small programable eletronic board) that you can plug LEDs, sensors and do simple things with programming.
Since that day I never stopped to watch videos about programming (mostly indians 🤣) and learn about random stuff from hacking to electronics. I really appreciate that time, makes me get a big picture of the computational world at all.
My first job
I got my first formal programming job when I was 15. I just sent over 300 curriculums for a lot of companies and only one circled me back.
So, Why it was so hard?
- I didn't have proof-of-work enough
- I didn't know how to approach correctly the companies to finnaly get hired
- I was only 15 - Most part of companies looks at it with bad eyes, as it's usual to people with that age doesn't have maturity enough.
What I did?
Said that, the first thing i've made when started on company was to figure out what are the big problems among all the stakeholders:
- Developers
- C-level
- Customer
- Customer Success
- Hiring
And tried to solve them all, the really 10x devs solve all the problems of the company, some people will say for you to relax or just take care about the code but if you want to grow in your carrer blazingly fast you must take care of everything.
Help your teammates to improve their time and make them more productive certainly will take you to another level.
After that, i coded a lot pushed a lot of open source repos and applied for a ton of companies again. At this second
